Recruitment Policy & School Compliance
Class Cover has undergone rigorous inspection and vetting to achieve the Quality Mark status awarded jointly by the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) and the DfE. The Recruitment and Selection Policy forms part of the Quality Mark standard. All of our teachers, teaching assistants and support staff are vetted according to these government regulations:
- Interviewed face to face – an intensive and thorough process which sets us apart from many other teaching recruitment services.
- Identity checked – we verify the identity of each teacher against official photo documents such as a passport or driving licence in addition to a birth certificate.
- CRB and List 99 checked.
- Qualification checked – we insist on seeing original documents and keep copies for our files. If certificates are not available we contact the DfE/GTC or the applicant’s training provider.
- Reference checked – our teachers must be referenced for more than five years and for each teacher we require at least two independent referees.
- Health checked – all our teachers must complete a medical declaration.
- Identified for security purposes with a Class Cover card which they must carry with them at all times when on school premises.
- GTC registration details checked.
- Child protection training checked – evidence is required or training provided.
- Given access to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) through our training programmes.
