Food Service Assistant
Location: Crawley, West Sussex
Salary: Grade 4 £11,174 – £11,357
Hours: 20 hours per week (10:30–14:30), Monday–Friday, Term Time Only plus INSET days
Our client is looking for a Food Service Assistant to join our friendly catering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive environment, serving both students and staff while ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and present food, with full allergen awareness.

Assist with serving lunch to students and staff in a welcoming manner.

Operate the till when required, promoting a friendly atmosphere.

Ensure food preparation and service areas are kept clean and hygienic.

Unload deliveries and support catering colleagues.

Clean equipment, fixtures, and fittings according to rota.

Report any incidents, safeguarding concerns, or food safety issues immediately.

Carry out any reasonable requests from your manager.
Personal Skills:

Understanding of health, hygiene, and food safety.

Able to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines.

Strong customer service skills.

Previous catering experience (desirable but not essential).
